The title of the book is Generation Us : The Challenge of Global Warming. It means that global warming is a challenge for humans espsecially for humans who live in the present. Although we won’t be felt it in our lifetimes, but it is our responsibility for creating the problem of global warming.

The picture of the cover is the gray earth with a leaf on it. In my opinion, the picture is enough to describe the contents of the book. Because the gray earth is describe about the damage earth, and the leaf is describe about solution to face the challenge of global warming.

The writer of the book is Dr. Andrew J. Weaver. He is professor and Canada Research Chair in climate modeling and analysis in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, University of Victoria. So, I think that he has experience and training about the material. He is also the author of Keeping Our Cool: Canada in a Warming World. But

The book was published in United States on 2011. It is up to date, because until now global warming is a warm conversation among communities. Orca is a company which published the book.

There is no preface, foreword or introduction in this book. But the writter is telling about his expectations. That we will be convinced that global warming is occuring. And to be understand the reasons why we might care about the consequences of global warming.

B.  Preview of the Body

I think the writter use a style that is quite easy to be understood by the readers. The heading of each part is good and also easy to be understood. Some headings are questions about the part. And I think the questions make the readers wondering about the contents and it will make the readers interesting about the contents of that part.

The writters use a definition method to describe the materials. He also use some pictures, tables, and charts to support the materials which written on the book. The book is telling the readers about problem of global warming, the reason why we have to care about it, and also what should we do about it. This is not something new, but it is very useful for us to keep this earth for humans in the future. I like something like this, because I want to be someone who save the world from the damage. So, I enjoy to read it.

C.  Preview of the Back Matter

The book has no reference. I think the writer use his ability to collect the facts and data by himself without looking for references. But the book still has a glossary to help the readers to understand some unfamiliar words. And I understand most of things of that. Unfortunately, in this book there are no appendix or index to help the readers know and make it more understandable about the contents of the book.
